Adults Swimmer

The Adult Swim Program is designed to help individuals progress through three levels of swimming: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each level is focused on building water confidence, enhancing stroke technique, and improving overall swimming endurance. Swimmers will develop a solid foundation, refine their skills, and be prepared for more advanced training.

Program Structure

We offer three levels of swimming programs designed for customization, tailored to each participant’s individual needs and goals. These programs are structured to adapt to the rate of progress and learning style of each swimmer, ensuring a personalized experience:

  1. Marina’s Swim Beginner: Perfect for beginners, this program introduces the fundamental skills required to build swimming proficiency.
  2. Marina’s Swim Intermediate: For swimmers who have mastered the basics and are ready to further develop their strokes, increase swimming distances, and improve proficiency.
  3. Marina’s Swim Advanced: For advanced swimmers looking to refine their techniques and gain advanced fitness through targeted stroke development

Level 1: Beginner

Fitness Level: Basic fitness, focused on building comfort and water confidence. Swimmers are still developing their endurance and basic stroke mechanics.
Skills Achieved:

  • Glide and kick efficiently in the water with basic stroke techniques.
  • Float and maintain buoyancy, both on the front and back.
  • Perform head-down front crawl for short distances with basic breathing control.
  • Retrieve objects from shallow depths and tread water for brief periods.
  • Begin building the foundation for stroke technique, water safety, and basic endurance.

Test Requirements:

  • Front Glide with Scop Up: 15 meters (Goal: Develop comfort in the water, focus on balance and body positioning)
  • Pencil Float on Back: 15 meters (Goal: Improve buoyancy and backstroke comfort)
  • Head-Down Front Crawl: 15 meters (Goal: Introduce basic front crawl stroke, focus on body position and breathing control)
  • Retrieving Objects from the Bottom: 1.5 meters depth (Goal: Build water confidence and safety skills)
  • Tread Water: 15 seconds (Goal: Develop basic endurance and water stability)

Level 2: Intermediate

Fitness Level: Moderate fitness with improved endurance and stroke technique. Swimmers will be more comfortable in deep water and can swim longer distances with more controlled strokes.
Skills Achieved:

  • Swim 15-25 meters of front crawl and back crawl with proper breathing.
  • Execute whip kick unassisted for breaststroke and gain better control of their strokes.
  • Tread water for longer periods and retrieve objects from deeper water.
  • Build endurance and refine technique, allowing for smoother, more efficient swimming.
  • Perform deep-water jumps and treading with increased confidence.

Test Requirements:

  • Front Crawl: 15 meters (Breath every 3 strokes) (Goal: Build confidence in freestyle, improve breathing control)
  • Back Crawl: 15 meters (Goal: Enhance coordination and comfort with backstroke)
  • Whip Kick (Unassisted): 20 meters (Goal: Build leg strength and kicking technique for breaststroke)
  • Retrieving Objects from the Bottom: 2 meters depth (Goal: Improve safety skills and underwater mobility)
  • Tread Water: 30 seconds (Goal: Build endurance and maintain stability in deep water)
  • Jump into Deep Water & Tread Water: 30 seconds (Goal: Increase confidence in deeper water)

Level 3: Advanced

Fitness Level: High fitness, with improved cardiovascular endurance and efficient swimming techniques. Swimmers will be able to swim longer distances and more complex strokes without significant fatigue.
Skills Achieved:

  • Swim 25 meters or more of front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, and breaststroke with proper form and endurance.
  • Perform efficient treading water for 30+ seconds.
  • Increase stamina and swim multiple strokes for long distances with proper timing and breathing.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all strokes, focusing on technique and speed.
  • Be ready for more advanced training or endurance-focused swimming.

Test Requirements:

  • Front Crawl: 25 meters (Goal: Improve stroke efficiency, speed, and endurance)
  • Back Crawl: 25 meters (Goal: Refine technique and endurance for backstroke)
  • Elementary Backstroke: 25 meters (Goal: Develop a strong and efficient backstroke for endurance)
  • Breaststroke: 25 meters (Goal: Perfect technique and pacing for breaststroke)
  • Tread Water: 30 seconds (Goal: Build endurance and stamina for longer periods)
